“Give the Flowers a New Home!” Jockey Club Flower Re-planting Scheme

Every year after the Hong Kong Flower Show, flowers, special plants and exhibits suitable for re-planting are collected by the LCSD and sent to its leisure venues for landscaping. Some of the collected plants are sent to schools, registered charitable organisations and non-profit making organisations for planting under the “Give the Flowers a New Home!” Jockey Club Flower Re-planting Scheme.

Flowers that have wilted or cannot be re-planted are collected at the “Wilted Flowers Collection Point” set up by the LCSD in the showground during and after the flower show. They are then delivered to the Environmental Protection Department’s Animal Waste Composting Plant in Ngau Tam Mei for recycling as compost. The arrangement aims to encourage the recycling of wilted flowers and promote environmental awareness.
